Better Than Most ~ Cake

Better Than Most ~ Cake!! And the best part you can change the cake type and topping to whatever you desire. However the first time I enjoyed this cake, it was so moist, until I found out it had caramel in it. Due to the lack of being a caramel fan, there had to be something to alter this cake to make it just as moist and delicious.

And so the experiment began, hmm cake mix, devils food, dark chocolate, spice, yellow whatever you like. Also topping ice cream sauce, fudge, caramel, strawberry or even raspberry? Whipped Cream is just that, and now for the extra goodies on top!! There are so many to choose, health bars, butter fingers, snickers, reese’s cups, dark chocolate bar, white chocolate, peppermint, again whatever works. Also you can include, pecans or walnuts.

As for my choice combo this round, going with chocolate, fudge and reese’s cups for the win!! Below are the details:

Dark Chocolate Cake Mix, bake by direction, once cool (about 1/2 hour) use a round wooden spoon and poke holes in the cake. Pour over a 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk, cover all the holes. And next hot fudge sauce, I warm mine up so it is smooth to pour. Let stand in refrigerator, covered well. However if not in a rush you can leave on the counter until cool. The last step, cover with whipped cream, not super thick, enough to hide the cake, top with reese’s cups cut up. And back in the refrigerator until ready set up a bit. And when serving I like it room temperature, seems moister.

With this dessert I chose my favorite all time fine wine from DTCA (Direct to Consumer Ambassador) Ricord Merlot. Perhaps you have never had the pleasure of a fine Merlot with dark chocolate, well you owe it to your busy selves to enjoy this pairing. Intrigued yet…… Come on in!
